Universal Pictures has paid seven figures for Goner, a spec script that Joss Whedon  wrote and will direct. It will be produced by Mary Parent and Scott Stuber.
 
Whedon’s description: "It's the story of a young woman's journey that involves a great deal of horror and some heroics. It's certainly darker than Serenity, and there are a lot of left turns along the way. It is something I had in mind for a while, and it just poured out of me when I finished my film."

Well I have now had the chance to see the first (TV station compile, double-ep) episode of the series which started at 11 am on Saturday 17th of September.
 
Clearly this series (The Tribe, A New Tomorrow) is more a spin-off than a sequel/sixth season, to the previous five season run of The Tribe.
