Saturday’s report on SCI-NUT Star Trek convention, 16-18 September Union Hall, La Trobe University, Bundoora, VIC. www.scinut.com

The convention at LaTrobe University today was disappointing for organisers, but great for attendees. There were not a lot in attendance, but this meant that the guests gave all their attention to the fans, and one could stand and gossip with them at length. I have posted a few photographs from the event at:

There were supposed to be talks by each, but as they had stood and gossiped with the fans all morning, this was changed to one group question and answer. David Winning has directed Andromeda, Stargate and other shows, and he showed an episode from Andromeda Season four. The others just talked about their past acting.

Tomorrow (Sunday) things start about 9.30am. It costs $80 for a single day entry. There is a cheaper rate, but I paid that because the organisers are going to be left short. But it is a good opportunity to come and have a reasonably intimate gossip with any of these people, and listen to Vaughn play the guitar (badly) or the mouth organ (well). And sing.

If you are going, enter from Waterdale Road, and you find yourself at carpark 3. Parking is free at the weekend. If you follow the signs to Union Hall you walk off to the left and do about 290 degrees of a circle before you get to the entrance, or you can walk off to the right around the buildings and get there in less than 100 metres.
