Diane Marchant passed away quietly on April 5 at Monash Medical Centre. She was suffering from pancreatic cancer that had spread to  the rest of her body.

Diane, along with Jacqueline Lichtenburg, formed the Star Trek Welcommittee in 1972.  She had already been answering Australian enquiries for Gene Roddenberry previous to this.  She worked hard and  tirelessly at answering the many thousands of enquiries during her  tenure, putting people in contact with each other, and sharing any  information she had available.

People will remember her for her  kindness, and the wacky story lines she would come out with when workshopping with other writers.

She made a difference in many peoples' lives and will be remembered.

Live long and prosper, Diane.

(Words by Susan Batho)

Her funeral will be held at St Brigid's Catholic Church, High Street,  Mordialloc at 11 am on Monday 10th April.
