ImageThis BBC full-cast audio drama was originally webcast in 2001. It reunites the successful team of Sylvester McCoy as the Dr and Sophie Aldred as Ace, and has an impressive guest cast, including Jacqueline Pearce as Admiral Mettna. Kevin Eldon is introduced as the Dr’s mysterious new companion, Antimony, and Stephen Fry puts in a superb performance as The Minister of Chance. There are also very brief appearances from Anthony Stewart Head (Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slyer) and Nicholas Courtney.

Overall, this is an intriguing story. It takes the arch-manipulator theme of the McCoy era and runs with it to a new level. Unfortunatly the whole thing somewhat comes unravelled at the end with a rather silly climactic confrontation. A real shame, as everything else about this production was pretty damn close to brilliance.
