Slayercon 2005 was to be held in Adelaide on July 2-3, and guests were to include Amy Acker (Fred), Julia Benz (Darla), Clare Kramer (Glory) and Iyari Limon (Kennedy).

The website at http://www.scoobygangpromotions.com just says that the convention has been postponed, and that it will be rescheduled, hopefully in October. It also says that no refunds will be available until the new date is confirmed.

South Australia's commissioner for Consumer Affairs, Mark Bodycoat, says he has received a number of complaints, and: "We're need to secure refunds for consumers of some alternative arrangement if we can and secondly we're not satisfied that there hasn't been some inappropriate behaviour."

The OCBA is investigating amid fears that Mr Schumacher has left Australia with the fans' money, but has been unable to located him. Nor has the convention centre - apparently Schumacher had paid a deposit but had cancelled the event at short notice.

This convention is NOT connected to another Buffy convention which is running in Melbourne on the same weekend and which is still going ahead. Guests are James Marsters (Spike), Anthony Stewart Head (Rupert Giles) and David Fury (Buffy writer/executive producer). See http://www.tabularasa.com.au for details.
